Our Board of Directors: Clayton Sissons

Clayton Sissons is a fourth generation Medicine Hat business person and President and CEO of I-XL Ltd. a privately-owned, family-held, holding company that began in 1912 (based in Medicine Hat). I-XL Ltd. businesses are involved primarily in the manufacture and sale of building brick, masonry products and clays, and high-temperature refractory and lining materials.

Clayton is the Chairman of Clayburn Industrial Group Ltd. Clayburn manufactures, sells and installs high-temperature refractory and products and insulating and lining products. Clayburn has manufacturing facilities in Canada, United States and China.

Before coming back to Medicine Hat, Clayton practiced law in Yellowknife, NWT. He has a BA, LLB from University of Alberta, and a number of business and management courses.

Clayton is also active as a:
- Member of the Law Society of Alberta
- Past President of the Medicine Hat Chamber of Commerce
- Past Chair of the Board of Governors, Medicine Hat College
- Board member of a number of public companies, and on audit and governance and HR committees.
- Member of the World Presidents Organization
- Memeber on various boards, committees and fundraising responsibilities (both charitable and political)

Currently Clayton is also a board member of the Brenda Strafford Foundation, a Canadian Charity based in Calgary.

Clayton lives in the deep, dry south portion of the province with his wife Roxanne.
